Busy Gangs Happy Gangs, The Natural OrderBusy Gangs Happy gangs, it just naturally follows. The more your gang has to do the less likely it is that they will find trouble or get into hot water. This does not mean however that your gang has to do all the things they don't like, but rather finding them stuff to do, that they do like. These should be activities outside of their normal chores. Kids are generally much more energetic than adults and more curious and willing to try out different things. By trying out different things there is also a possibility of finding that one special thing your gang member/s will really like and love. In order for them to find that special thing be prepared to go along with trying out different activities. However what ever activity they decide to choose to try out, they must give it a go for at least a month or two. Sticking something out for a couple of months or up to nine times ensures that they get a good experience and a broader picture of where it can take them. To ignore this detail can be a very expensive mistake. Kids have to repeat things in order for something to make an impact on them mentally and physically before they can make an informed decision. Doing anything only once or twice is whimsical and a judgement of like and dislike cannot be taken seriously. Other animals may behave in ways that describe some form of intellect and we know that some animals play and are able to learn various tasks, for instance chimps, gorillas and Dolphins to name just a few. Some even use tools for getting at their food. What makes us so different from animals is art. It could be argued that art is essentialy a human quality. It takes many forms so cannot be banished as useless or time wasting. Art in all it's forms has the ability to unite humans all over the world. Art has no borders, is not restricted to race, ethnicity or religion. It is the ultimate universal chill pill. Music can give us goose pimples, shut out all that is irrelevant and quiet the mind. Dance enervates us, paintings, films, fashion designs and even great architecture can enthrall us. Great engineering can blow our minds from cars, aeroplanes and bridges to the delicate workings of a clock. All of this is art and much more. So before we pooh pooh art, we need to think of where it can lead us and our Busy Gangs Happy Gangs.
Music classes are great for self expression and confidence. These can be classes in guitar playing, drums, flute, piano, you name it. So many musical ways of Keeping Busy Gangs Happy Gangs! Some classes may be more expensive than others but there are people out there who have the know how but have not thought about teaching it. By putting an ad' in the local paper you may just be able to drag some of them out of the woodwork and get lessons that are a bit cheaper. As with most things it takes time to get the hang of it, therefore as said before keep them at it for at least a term (3 months) before making a decision that it is not the thing for your child.

There are designated areas in most councils now and if you do not have one in yours but have wannabe artists, it may do your area a great service if you can convince your local council to do this and allow budding artists to display their talent. Obviously there are many more art forms other than grafitti and we are never too young or too old to begin painting or drawing. Get your hands rainbowed and join in the fun with your gang and hand paint! Nothing inspires the budding artist more than looking at the work of other artists. However art unfolds makes no difference if it brings joy to the artist and joy to the beholder. Other forms of keeping Busy Gangs, Happy Gangs, is through sport of the more conventional and not so conventional kind. Many young boys and some girls take to karate and Tai Chi as well as other forms of martial arts. Taking classes in any of the sports and arts means that your kids will meet like minded kids and very likely will make friends with them. They too are Busy Gangs and therefore less likely to be the sort that hang about on the streets. Boxing is another great way of helping to focus energy and even anger. It is not everybody's cup of tea but it has saved many a young lad from the streets.
If your Busy Gangs like camping it is probable that they might also enjoy rock climbing which is another sport that well supervised, will knock the excess energy out of them and give you peaceful nights, and less stressful days of worrying about where they are. These out-doorsy kids may also fit in well with life saving, so if your busy gang is on the coast this maybe an opportunity during the long summer holidays of keeping them happy and busy. Don't over-look water sports for keeping Busy Gangs Happy Gangs!! skiing is another fun filled energy sapper, though can be a bit expensive, if so and your kids have not yet learned to swim, this is a good time to let them take lessons, if you don't you will never know if you have the next olympic champion under your nose. It is also means less worry for mom and dad. Remember that Busy Gangs Happy Gangs have less time to try out smoking, drinking and drugs. They will be given the opportunity of finding better, more interesting and educational things to do. And may also find a gang of kids to fit into, that do not do have all the aforementioned vices/hobbies. The summer holidays are a great time to teach Busy gangs to bake. This is a skill that they will thank you for, for the whole of their lives. And if mom does not know how to cook then this is a chance for them to learn alongside the kids, a great way of bonding too. Possibly one of the easiest things to teach our Busy Gangs happy Gangs to bake, is scones, even if you have not made them before. They can get their paws a little sticky in this mix: 1 Cup self raising flour, pinch of salt, 1 tablespoon sugar 1 Big spoon butter, Add the butter to the flour and rub in with fingers. very quickly, (don't try to mix the butter in thoroughly, a few unmixed lumps here and and there is fine) A little cold water, just enough to make the dough easy to work with into a sort of thick but less sticky mousse texture that does not stick to fingers when dipped in flour. Pat dough down on flat surface until it is about an inch thick. Cut circles with a glass or cutter, lay on greased tin and bake at 200deg for about 15-20min. If too sticky just add a little flour before cutting the circles out.
This is the time to get kids involved in gardening and all things creative that keep them amused and informed.
So many kids love planting beans and quick growing plants. Gardening really can make for Busy Gangs Happy Gangs. You can also start a wormery for your gang all it takes is some well composted soil and either a half drum or a fishtank kept in the dark if your Busy Gangs Happy Gangs want to view their nice fat pink worms. It must stay damp. Most nurserys these days keep all sorts of mediums in which to keep worms!
